Three Major Chords Here are charts for the 1st three chords I like students to start with. These are the major chords in the key of A. As you practice changing from one to another be sure to keep your 1st finger in contact with the 3rd string and just slide it lightly from one fret to the next. With all chords remember to place your fingers just behind the frets. The fingering I suggest for the A chord allows your 2nd and 3rd fingers to be right behind the 2nd fret and your 1st finger just a little behind them. ![]() |
