Q. What should I expect to learn at my first guitar lesson?

A. I would start by saying that everybody’s first guitar lesson will be quite different in general. The first thing I do is talk to the student to find out a little about them and their background. This would include their musical background as well as a little personal history.
The next couple of things I need to know are why do they want to play the guitar and what style or styles are they interested in going in to.

At that point we are ready to start the guitar lesson, although some of the things I would cover are universal to all students. The main thing I try to do is pick up the program right where they are already, make a few adjustments to any technical problems,then guide them in the direction that seems most appropriate.
