Great diagram for this lesson. I tried printing it for reference but, it chops off the right end of page. Is there a setting for printing that I am not familiar with? - Allen Page

F chord

to Kath: the F chord can be played as a barre chord, or it can be played with the first finger barring the 1st and 2nd string of the first fret, the 3rd string of the 2nd fret, and the 4th and 5th strings of the 3rd fret.
in other words: x33211. the barre chord is read as 133211. so as you can see the only difference is the top note.

Barre chords are hard to master, but they are by far the most useful, because you can move them up and down the fretboard. e.g. f barre up two frets becomes a g chord. - Jonathan Wu

I can't get chord images to show up. Don't know why. All these years I thought F chord was one string lower on each fret than C maj and now I see it is a bar chord???? Yikes, I've never been able to play bar chords. How do I learn? - kath
