That was FANTASTIC!! I'm so old I remember when that song first came out and it was a classic immediately. In fact, we played that song in my garage band in 1966 (when it came out) and for a few years afterward. The fans always loved it. But by then we thought we were too cool and had to play British rock.

The only problem is Krista is waaaaaay too good of a singer to play that howler!!!! LOL! Despite that I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thanks for sharing it with us!!

Cheers!

Cori, Krista,

Not baaa-aaa-aaadd ! Actually, very very gowooo-ooo-ooodd !!

How about renaming this thread "Busking Fairy Tales" ?

Some possible additions:
House at Pooh Corner (Loggins and Messina, and others)
Mary had a Little Lamb (Paul McCartney)
Mother Goose (Jethro Tull)
White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane)

... don't take this suggestion seriously, I just had to ramble a bit !

Charming ! Loved it !

Re: Busking Little Red Riding Hood For Kevin... 10 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Well first off, I sincerely apologize for the lateness in getting these “ thank-yous” out.
(Swear to goodness I had it nearly done and then found that I had deleted it by an errant mouse click…Microsoft Word and cut & paste is now my new best friend.) Also, started working a very physical graveyard shift job, this summer and haven’t really had a lengthy window of time to get this done. Okay, so much for the lame excuses…here goes…

Geez, everybody!! On behalf of Krista & I both... I feel I must say that I was blown away by SO many comments & So many enthusiastic kind words for this nostalgic, yet silly little strummer. I mean ya know… on one hand this song is a far cry from the typical Tom Tvarga upload. Much more of a goofy, lets let ‘er rip kind of a thing. But I darn near feel kinda guilty…what with all this outpouring of support....the tune having the simplicity that it does. But, anyways…. seriously, WOW, folks!! Couldn’t believe it!!!

* Thank you ALL in general for all the nice things you had to say about Krista’s vocals!!

Coclimber - Thank you, very much!! Glad you enjoyed it; and nice to make your
acquaintance! We have a couple more tunes we’re sorta working on. Thanks.

Jim - Thank you very kindly Jim! What is Jim working on these days? A recent post or
two of your posts really clued me in to how knowledgeable you are & how much
enthusiasm you have for a wide range of musical genres. Thanks.

Craig – You are definitely still invited!! Seriously…. However, you will need to give us
advanced notice…since the pre-visit cleaning could take a good long while! Lol!
Yep, I gotta admit the “howls” were quite fun to do. Glad you liked it! Thanks!

TomT. – Incredibly entertaining…well, wow!! Like I said in the intro there, this is a far
cry from the typical Tom Tvarga upload. (You’re all about consistently pushing
yourself with the difficult finger picking songs; much the same way Marc
pushes himself in a classic rock vein) So, anyways I guess if you liked it…well,
that’s good enough for me. Thanks Tom, means a lot!!

Shel - I dunno where to start exactly….”Cool, Hilarious, Fun.” Man, we had better
quit while we’re ahead. So happy you enjoyed it!! Thank you for your usual
brand of good cheer & kind, supportive feedback. Much Appreciated!!!

William- Hope we didn’t blow out your speakers. Smiling right back@ you across the
drink! Thanks, William!! Glad u enjoyed it!

Jay - Oh my god, that was such a HUGE compliment! “One of your favorite TG vids”
Double-WOW!! Couldn’t be more blown away by that one. That puts our
cheesy little video in some pretty good company I’d say! You’ve got some that
make my all-time list: Black Crowes, Greg Brown, and your awesome
collab(s) to name but a few.. Thanks jay means a lot!!

Daryl - Wolfman Jack, alright very cool….I can handle that! (That’s some serious
rasp.) Thanks for the supportive comments about Krista’s vocals.

Marc - Thank you for your kind words. (Believe it or not there was just straight up H20
in Krista’s glass.) Yeah, the rhythm accompaniment was nothing more than
understated back-up to Krista’s vocals…and that is a-okay with me. (It’s kinda
fun.actually.) I guess its sorta like John Lennon said one time: “Rhythm guitar is
important I take it seriously” As for Krista’s vocals, yeah ( I hope it is not bad
form) but I know what ya mean. I would like to try another song one of these
times that she can really belt it out on. Thanks for the kind words, as always Sir.

Tom N.- Both Mental? Yep, I think you’ve got the situation pegged, Sir. LOL! (crescent
moon actually…just our inherent goofiness coming out.) Very glad you
enjoyed it!!! And thank you for support!! It was fun for sure!! What’s Claire
working on these days?

Rick(Hydro) Nurse Ratched!!LOL Tilted, oh yeah, you don’t know the half…lol!! Very
glad you enjoyed this Rick!! And, I’m very glad to see Jerry the Bassman is
on the mend. We’ll be looking forward to seeing your next killer upload.
Thanks Again!!

Pete- Very Glad you enjoyed it Pete. Thanks for stopping by! What are you playing these
days? Hope to see something from u soon. Add to the Neil Young Melody?

Dennis- Well, a sincere thank you Dennis. The short answer is ‘yes.’ We have given it
some thought…and have kinda- sorta scouted some possible venues. Don’t
think we’re anywhere near the level you and Jamie are, but it is a goal. Thank
You for your kind words!!

Bob-Fabulous….well, gee thanks a ton Bob!! Very Glad you enjoyed it!! Thak You
very much!! Hope to see some new posts from you one of these days.

Tony -You really are too kind!! Dunno what to say really, totally blown away!!!…
Bring Down the House….One of your Favorite Videos…Geez, man!! Thanks a whole lot!!
Guess you musta really enjoyed it!! Well, the interaction…I guess it shows
what goonballs we both are. Thanks Again, Tony!!

Al - Very Glad you enjoyed it Al!! Again, I am biased but I think Krista’s voice has
a very nice quality to it as well. I would love to see (hear rather) Helen & Krista
sing together on something. Wouldn’t that be cool? Thanks man!!!
It means, a lot!!

Abilog - Thank You So Much!! Very Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your kind words!

Andy-Thanks Andy! Keep trying, one of these times your wife is liable to relent and
sing with ya! Just keep at it…

Vanessa- Thanks So much Vanessa!! You’re a good egg!! Miss ya & Suz both. Glad
you liked the Keep -It -Simple approach on the accompaniment. And yeah,
Krista does engage pretty well with the cam/audience whatever…
its the theatre major in her I suspect. So glad u enjoyed it!! And yes, I have a
very, very long way to go but I have been doing some “disco dancing.”
It is starting to pay off a little. Aside from the week or two at the end of school
where I fell off the wagon, and had a bad attack of square dancing lol I have
lost around 30 pounds overall. So at least it is headed in the right direction.
Thanks Again!!!!

Rick – Thanks A lot Rick!!! I have ALWAYS valued your input ; plus
I / we don’t see u on the forum too much these days, so it is especially cool to
hear from you. Very cool to hear about your garage rock days! Thank you!!
Like I told Marc, we’ll try to find some other material for Krista. (It’s probably a
bit biased of me to say, but I agree with you.) Thanks A heap Rick!!

RDaltry- “I’m a member of the Imperial Senate on Diplomatic a mission to
Alderaan”…LOL! Ya cracked us up BIGTIME with this!!! Thank you for
your kind words!! Very, very glad you enjoyed it! Speaking of Star Wars
there is this Gotye parody: “The Star Wars That I Used to Know.”

N.C. – Thanks A lot N.C. Very glad to meet a fellow Bob Schneider fan as well!!
I might give “Batman” a try! I would love to hear you do one of tunes as well!
Thanks, Man!!

Buddy- Very Glad you enjoyed it!! After watching the vid a time or two I hoped we
weren’t too over the top, overbearing annoying with our banter…I guess you
didn’t think so. Thanks A lot, Bud! Glad you enjoyed it!!

Pierre – You are such a character!! I love your idea of “busking fairytale songs” I
seriously do like the idea!! (let’s do it…maybe we can something started)
And I am very much glad you enjoyed this as well!

Kevin- Well, we took the challenge…and I am glad we did! Had a blast doing it Sir!
Thanks for that!!(I definitely owed you one for you doing your more-or less a
tutorial for me on “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” )And it sounds like you
really, really enjoyed our silly take on it…Your videos were really, really,
really cool b.t.w!! BRAVO! What a great way to personalize things! I dunno if
we can take credit for you meeting your sax player…but I ‘d sure like to that
was just great! Thanks Again Kevin!! So Great to See & Hear You!!!

Krista & Cori,

Oh MY!!!!! Just got around to this today and I've got to tell ya this blew my freaking socks off. EVERYTHING about this was just fantastic. The intro, Krista's singing was amazing and Cori I don't recall you playing any more perfect than you did on this song. What a *%(#$#( treat this was. It is hands down one of my all time favorite videos on this site. The only problem is I want more!!!! Great job you two and a sincere thanks for posting this. Have a great 4th of July!!
