Great idea this one! I reckon you and me might be doing most of the posting here Matt
Anyway, here's ACDC when Bon Scott was fronting them. What a charisma this guy had and like so many, such a sad ending. ACDC, acknowledged as an Australian band even though they were mostly Scottish immigrants, has no Australian born member left in it. Bon Scott once lived in my suburb here in sleepy little Adelaide and he is STILL legendary.

Cold Chisel have always had a special place in my heart for all the wrong reasons.
When in Sydney 2006 we were enjoying our new years eve in a pub with a guy playing guitar and singing. He was brilliant and really had the crowd in his hands.
However occasionally he would play something which had all us English boys looking at each other and saying "what is this, this is awful".
Our enquiries always led to finding out it was cold Chisel.
In the interests of balance, this is my favorite Aussie band - Jet

Mark that's a consistent opinion in my experience. Cold Chisel are an Australian legend but their music is not appreciated outside of this country at all. When they tried their luck in the States as all rising bands do they were shown the door really quickly by American record executives. They wrote this song about the experience:
