Tovo, Definitely check them out! I like their albums Electric Version and Twin Cinema. Neko Case is well known as a solo artist, but she sings for them both as a lead and backup singer.

I thought this was good- as it's a TARGET tune as well! Michael Bublé from British Columbia sings 'Moondance'. My buddy works on his tour.

Here's a great 80's Hair Band that was HUGE in Canada- Honeymoon Suite. 'New Girl Now' (you gotta love a video that has a Delorean in it!! 'Wave Babies' (worth a watch, lads) ** My buddy Matt (the guitar teacher in my contest entry) actually jammed with these guys at a party in a hotel room way back when. Would have been cool!!

two Canadians.... kd lang's performance of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame induction of Leonard Cohen in 2006 I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here - so if someone can see it - let me know.

Yann Perreau is a young francophone singer/songwriter that is breaking out big in Quebec. The song in this video is "Le bruit des bottes", translatable to "The Sound (or noise) of Boots". It's theme is the military indoctrination of the masses. It includes a guest appearance by an intelligent rapper-type group, "Loco Locas". An enthralling performance, must be heard at loudest possible volume

Aside from Joni Mitchell, Ian & Sylvia were my favorite Canadian act. Back in the early '60s there wasn't a folk guitarist alive who wasn't playing "Four Strong Winds." - Dennis The synch gets a little messed up part way through the song.

How could I forget Blue Rodeo?? Every one of these songs is GREAT (imho). You might even hear one that is 'TG-worthy! 'Try' 'Hasn't Hit Me Yet' 'Til I Am Myself Again' 'Bulletproof' 'Five Days in May' 'Rain Down on Me' 'Bad Timing' Sorry for all the posts.. they've got LOADS of great songs!!! Coulda' kept going!
