Hi Gang,

As an experiment with the poll feature I thought I would pose a somewhat hypothetical question. Let's say a few years from now you are playing in a band that is getting some big time recognition and praise from audiences and critics. A fan comments, "Wow! I have never heard anybody play anything like that. What electric guitar player influenced you the most?" Remember, we are talking hypothetical, and possibly deep into the world of fantasy!

Who would you most like to be able to say was your biggest influence?

I voted Gilmour, but that's only because Warren Haynes wasn't on the list...

I went with David as well. Mostly because I could only pick 1.

Neil, I guess many people would have a guitar player who is a big influence who is not on your list. Mine would really be Jerry Garcia! (Maybe you forgot about him) By default I voted for Jimi Hendrix, He has been a hero of mine for so long! My second would be Jimmy Page, and he could have easily been #1. It was a tough decision. I voted Gilmour. Steve Howe, AlDimeola and Jimmy Page are also big influences but Gilmour adds a particular feeling that I like.

Not easy to single out just one. But I narrowed firstly down to Blues, then from their it wasn't any easier... IN the end it was either Clapton or Vaughan... now whose button did I push...

Chose SRV, but thought about both Clapton or Hendrix. Then heard SRV play a Lightnin' Hopkins tune on his 'lectric and knew he was the one true one.
