Q. Do you think the time will come when I can actually take an internet guitar lesson?

A. I am really excited about the stuff that is developing here at Totally Guitars. The day when you can actually take an internet guitar lesson is almost here. There already are lessons on the web but most of them are more what I would consider guitar tutorials rather than real lessons so to speak.

I think a good music lesson needs to be more interactive than most of what is available right now. We are working on a system that would require a student to have a webcam of some sort so they could have a lesson in real time over the internet. Obviously this involves scheduling a time with the teacher and both parties sitting down in front of their computers at the same time. Of course they could be anywhere in the world at the time (well almost…).

I can see the concept of an internet guitar lesson working another way as well. This would not require both parties online at the same time but would be more of a Q&A session using email or a live chat room. We plan on having the infrastructure to let students upload their own videos and get comments and recommendations from the teachers.
