Questions & Answers with Neil Hogan - #1.3 Q. I would like to get into guitar teaching because it looks
like a lot of fun and I think I’d be fairly good at it. What steps can you
suggest I take? A. The first thing a teacher has to have is students so I suggest
you find some people looking for music instruction if you intend to get into
guitar teaching. You need to sit down with the student and find out as much
about them as possible. One of the main things you are looking for is how they
learn. This is really the absolute most important thing about guitar teaching. I know
that once I have figured out how a student learns best (this is a bit of
psychoanalysis as it turns out) I am in the best possible position to instruct
them. Click on the guitar lessons online link for other tips on becoming a good instructor. |
