I'd previously not 'heard' of the lead finger technique, but I had developed leads from my own experience. Unfortunately, these included the 5th finger for the open G chord and the first finger for the open C. Re-learning the chords with your preferred lead fingers is like learning the chords all over again. I'm now getting my speed back up to where it used to be before I decided to try this, but it's slow going!
