This is a really beautiful piece and with some effort and small chunk practice I should be able to master, however ziggy You are right.... part a has technical difficulties.-dave

Am now happy with part a and half-way through b. This is a nice piece and sounds nicer when played to friends who ask, "how did you do that?" As Tom V says above, you can't bluff this one. The secret really is in the fingering. I spent two hours on saturday (that's TWO HOURS) working on bars (or measures, as you Americans apparently say) 11 and 12 because I could not get the sodding fingering right. And that is not the most difficult phrase of that piece. Really nice when you get it right, though.
Once I've got this one down I'm hoping Neil will put Mood For A Day up.

Neil
Thanks for this great addition. These lessons are so nicely prepared in nice manageable chunks. It's cool to relate that with just a few months of work I find that I prefer reading the notation over the tabs. Your explanation of the notation markings was very helpful!!
Love the classical selections, please keep them coming. Loved the Hector Garcia additions as well!

How many are old enough to remember this from the "Stand Up" album by Jethro Tull, circa 1969? Great choice, Neil!

Neil,
This is what I've been waiting for. A beautiful, classical piece that's really challenging.
I've been surprised how much more difficult this is to learn for me than Classical Gas or even The Sage. I think this is the first time I really have to think about getting all the fingering just right with no shortcuts or sloppiness. I really appreciate your suggestions on fingering and the annotations in the score. Maybe I've been ignoring them in the past, but I won't be any more.
I've pretty much got section A down and memorized ... after playing it at least 100 times :). Now on tothe next section. It really surprises me how much harder it is to have two simultaneous melody lines going on. I suppose it's good practice for my aging brain!
Anyway, please keep songs like this coming!

Neil or anyone knowledgable - When would be a good time to move from learning section A to B1 ??
Just how perfect do i need to get "A" before learning the next part??
Thanks
SB :)
