Ed has always been a big fan of Townes Van Zandt and this week he came in working on Townes’ cover of Dead Flowers, by The Rolling Stones.
Townes plays it in the Key of C, and uses a basic Travis style accompaniment with just a few embellishments.
We went over some key notes in each of the chords and also listened to the Stones’ version, in the Key of D. We paid particular attention to different resolutions at the end of phrases.

Neil, it would be great if you could create this Townes van Zandt´s version as a lesson. Thank you very much.
