Nature’s Way is a classic from the band Spirit, led by guitarist Randy California. It is from their fourth album, Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus and features almost minimalist style guitar playing with a mix of steady bass notes and accented chords. The lesson covers syncopation and how to understand musical directions (i.e. DC al Coda) as well.
thanks Neil. Really liked what you played as an instrumental! Not sure where I can suggest songs, but would love to learn Nostradamus by Al Stewart.

I do sing many of the songs we have lessons on but also feel it is very important to listen to (and purchase) the original, to get the feeling that the original artist wanted to convey. I usually figure that people are most interested in learning songs they are already familiar with anyway. Most original versions can at least be heard at YouTube nowadays as well.

It would be helpful if you could sing a little bit. It is so difficult to learn songs if the teacher doesn't make an attempt to sing. No one cares how well you sing, but it is helpful to someone who wants to learn the whole package. Where the phrasing begins etc. Fred Sokolow is excellent because he sings along with his lessons. He has a lousy voice but you learn .
