It appeared on their 1976 album Agents Of Fortune and was their first big hit. This is a great song for guitar players of any level. I make just about all of my students learn the opening riff early in their guitar lives. The chords can all be played with just 2 fingers, many of which are just power chords. It is also a good way to learn the technique of placing your left fingers down one at a time, in the order you need to play them, rather than slapping the whole chord down at once.

brilliant! who would have thought such a cool song would have so many lessons to teach?!written by mattroutley, October 27, 2009
I like how you say let's look at what some of the other hands have to do at the end of part 4, as if we have more than two! :D This is a great lesson and a perfect example of why I signed up to the target program. You're so clear in your instructions that I feel I have an instructor in the room with me. Thank you. I was wondering the same thing as Roger Wine, is there a benefit to using a alternating picking technique as opposed to down picking or cross picking? Does it help to keep time, or keep track of the strings? I do seem to have a better sense of where the strings are when I use the alternating picking technique.written by helloworld, September 29, 2009
Why can't the main riff be played with four down-down-down-up patterns instead of alternate picked? written by Roger Wine, July 16, 2009
Agree with rick...that stretch is toughwritten by Michael Mullaney, June 09, 2009
Hey Neil are you holding the full G?! I've been good and only used 2 fingers lol RicksPickwritten by Rick, May 28, 2009
Having problems with the stretch (frets 8,9,10 to 7,8,10) Guess more practice needed. RicksPickwritten by Rick, May 19, 2009
Rick- Good point, and you are correct. I was just thinking about the main riff. I make all my beginners learn this. It is a great exercise. The rest of the song requires quick bar chord changes, making it more like a 4. Thanks, Neilwritten by Neil, May 06, 2009
