Madman Across The Water was written by Elton John and his main lyricist, Bernie Taupin and was the title song from his 1971 album. It is one of his few songs that features acoustic guitar. The lesson goes over the basic riff and strumming accompaniment. Neil also plays a chord solo arrangement of the tune which is not covered in the lesson.
Neil, you makes me happy:-) Thanks for adding the solo!

I agree with some of the other comments here - I was hoping that I was getting the solo arrangement lesson when I purchased the song. I didn't need to pay $14.95 for the lesson as it is here. Even access to the tab of it would be nice!

I'll cast another vote for the solo in the preview. Sure hope you can do it cause this is one awesome song. Was thrilled when you added the solo to
Ain't no sunshine!!! Please, Please do the same for this one. (P.S. Could also use a few more from Elton, especially Rocket Man Jason Mraz's solo version)

Neil, I think many will purchase this song if you teach it as you play it on your free preview, along with your tabs,Richard

Neil, I had found this tab years ago and played it similar. Used an fmaj7 instead of f. Really like your fingerpicking and hope to get down something similar. I just subscribed today. First song. I hope to pick up a lot more. Been playing a long time and need to refocus on learning songs complete. Also, Any chance you will be adding more blues songs. I am excited about this site. You offer songs that are from my era or there abouts. I'm 52. other great song by Elton- "Come Down in Time". "50 years on" Brian

Neil,
I started working on Madman the day I became a member. I had the album years ago, but it seems to have disappeared somehow. SO, under your lesson video was a link to download the CD,which I did.
The reason I bring this all up, is that in your conclusion section, you mention that not many Elton John stuff was good guitar material. But on the CD I heard a song I'd forgotten about HOLIDAY INN, which is really a very fun strumming song, and one that is worth working with.
Check it out, I think it would be a hoot to learn.

love your stuff!! i print off material and when i don't play that song for a period i forget finger positioning on chords, if you had a tab key with all chords per song would be helpful, Mad man across water is example,
