It encompasses many techniques from fingerpicking arpeggios to strumming partial chords moving up the neck, and of course a killer lead to close the epic. This lesson covers all the rhythm guitar parts.

Hi Neil, do I need G5 to open the tabs? I can't seem to open it...can we get it in pdf?written by mickey68, February 28, 2011
Thanks Neil. I've known peices of this song, albeit not well, and was hoping I'd find it in it's entirety at Totally Guitars. Thank you.written by Jeff Eisenbaum , January 22, 2010
Great lesson, although the tabs were a must! Quick question. In the first 1 1/2 measures we have Am, Am9+7G#, and C/G. The first two chords require a 3 string bar and the 3rd requires a four string bar, but the 1st two chords cover the fourth string with another finger farther up the fretboard. Is there anything wrong with just barring all four strings from the beginning so it's ready when you need it?written by helloworld, September 30, 2009
One of the joy's of possessing little natural musical talent is the ability to listen to a song I like, hundreds, maybe even thousands of times, and never get bored with it. Most of the songs in this section were "over played" on the radio, but never by my standards.written by Tim Karls, July 22, 2009
Of course it's overplayed. Or it was, I don't listen to classic-rock radio because of just that phenomenon. But that has nothing to do with the greatness of the song -- only with ruining it for many people, and creating the myth that it's not a great song. But that's what corporate radio programmers do. I avoided Stairway for about a decade, so when I went back to it a couple of years ago, listening closely on quality headphones, it was almost like it was newish again, and, yeah, if it's not the best rock and roll song ever written, it's close. Some of the lyrics are stupid, but that's hardly a sin, and hardly unusual. I actually kind of like the stupidity, as I often do with the better songs of Yes and Floyd. But saying it's not overplayed is wrong. It is, and it's a shame. written by Dan Mitchell, July 10, 2009
Thanks a lot for another great lesson. Any chance of including sections for the strumming behind the solo and the section leading up to the solowritten by mark, May 26, 2009
