The chord progression features combinations of chords that clash a bit. It starts with a pair of D to G7 changes and follows with E while keeping D as the bass note. This is a perfect example of an off-balance series to set the mood for a song about insanity, or at least perceived insanity.

great lesson ! i like the theory and metronome part, well worth the money !written by xiombargdei, May 22, 2012
Why do you teach this with the full G7 chord and all the Travis picking that goes along with it on the lower strings. If you watch you tube on Roger Waters playing this acoustically, he is only playing the G7 with the high E string first fret on the F only. You can also see the whole song being played as a finger picking arrangement. written by djohnson013, April 12, 2012
Instead of playing it the same way, I am just doing an arpeggio type strum on this and it sounds great! Next I'll learn the actual finger picking for it.written by Andy, July 28, 2009
Great lesson. learned it, got it. Thanks For most of the songs I strum around with, I just know a quick riff. Here I've got the entire tune. This site is gonna be fun! Thanks Erikwritten by erik, July 25, 2009
