TARGET Members will have any Charts, TAB, and Guitar Pro Files
Wish You Were Here is the title track from the 1975 release by Pink Floyd. The album was their follow-up to one of the greatest recordings in rock history, The Dark Side Of The Moon, which was released in 1973. This lesson looks at 3 different aspects of the guitar parts in Wish You Were Here; the rhythmic strumming accompaniment backing the vocals, the opening part played in the chord-melody style where a melody is picked out while strumming a couple of chords, and the single-note lead played over the chord-melody section.
Thank You for the follow up on Pt. 10 - 15, I've alway enjoyed watching/listening and wanting to play like the "Play Through".

I joined the $9.95/2-song lessons per month and I cant't seem to get complete lessons for "wish you were here" and "shine on you crazy diamond." What am I doing wrong? I'm really getting pissed-offand about ready to cancel!

We are working on adding tab to some of the songs that have Chord Solo arrangements played as part of the Play Through segments. Our series on Creating Chord Solos is designed to teach you how to do this, as opposed to the note-for-note approach which is usually counter productive to becoming a better musician. This one is in the pipeline, but a bit down in the queue right now. My best advice is to check the Chord Solos lesson, maybe some lessons that have tab for the Play Through like Angie or Wild Horses, and really concentrate on learning the rhythm and melody independently to get the hang of it.

Neal,
So, now, will you provide a fingerpicking lesson of this song just as you play it in the play through?

Good Lesson Neil and I like being true to the original version, however I agree with some of the other comments here. Could you add a follow up lesson for the picking arrangement you did in the preview? Thats a great arrangement with the included melody and I was expecting that to be included in the lesson. Please let us know if this is in the works. Thanks.

I am a beginner and also new to Totally Guitars. The video I first saw that made me discover this site was of a Pink Floyd Goodbye Blue Sky. I can't find it on the site... Will it be available soon?

I'am proud to call Neil Hogan my guitar teacher! He is just an amazing guitarist. Pink Floyd's " Wish you were here" lesson is awesome.
