Another classic from this supergroup, Hotel California featured many guitar parts. This lesson looks at both opening rhythm guitar parts as well as the dueling closing leads.
Neil, what strumming pattern did you use for the sing-along? You went through 3 versions of a strum in the part 4 lesson but then used something different for the sing-along. I couldn't quite pick it out. Ha.

What would be great is if you could put your version (6 string)Rhythm guitar 1 in PDF format? as it is so cool!! And it would be easier to follow if it was written down (its probably an age thing Neil!)

Great Lesson, I just notice this on the closing lead. for E you have 10-12-13 on the EBG strings shouldn't it be !2-!2-13 to make the E. Correct me if I'm wrong ,just trying to learn Thanks

Neil, Like you, I totally love this song. It is one of the reasons I even play guitar. I've been working on it for a couple of years now and I think I'm starting to get it down.
What I really love about this lesson is you just taught me how to create a second guitar part so when I play with friends, I can play the different voicings and really fill out the song. Awesome lesson. Thanks so much!

what happend to the part of the song that the third guitar plays (in your play through), Its seems its only some parts that you show how to play but the rest you leave for us to learn on our own. Now that might be possible for some but for me to imrpove as a player i first need to play some songs and when i am past that stage of just learning and playing some songs i can start experementing but until then. I do get a bit frustrated when you play stuff in your play through that you dont show how to play in the other videos because its usualy sounds wery good.
The way a baby starts to learn is imitating its surroundings, so it would help if all that great stuff that you play Neil would be explained in the video :)

I wanted to say thanks to Neil for creating the TARGET membership and providing these detailed lessons. I wanted to contribute something and ask a question here. First my question: This song is in B minor and Neil explains that Bminor is the one chord and F# is the five chord. I know that in Major Keys theory tells us that the 1 chord is Maj. 2 chord minor 3 chord minor 4 chord major 5 chord major 6 chord is minor 7 chord is diminished. How does this apply to songs in minor Keys ? If you are in C the six chord is A minor. Does that now become the 1 chord for that key if the song is in A minor? Maybe I knew this at one time...who knows ? If I made this clear enough, I would love an explanation.
O.K. Now for a contribution. Neil discusses CAPO use and mutiple chord voices for this song. The CAGED system is something you might want to google and look at. But here is a method I have used for awhile that seems to work pretty well for most of the fingerboard to use your CAPO to find these multiple chord voicings. KEY OF E. 1 chord is E four chord A 5 chord B7th. One player can handle that. Now, find the E note which is on the second fret third string. Play that E note, not let go of it. What is the open string you just played the E note on ? It is D. Now place your CAPO on the second fret and play the 1 4 and 5 chords in the key of D with the CAPO in place on the second fret. They are: D G A and they now sound like E A and B but with a different voicing. This works in other places on the neck as well. Find the E note on the fifth string 7th fret. The open string here is A . Now play 1 4 and 5 in the Key of A. Keep going. It seems to work on the E A and D strings the best.
Disclaimer: I am not a guitar teacher. I love this instrument and wanted to share this information. Thanks.
